Jeff Porte Lead Pastor
Jeff Porte is the Lead Pastor at Centerpoint Church. In this role, he has primary responsibilities to preach, pray and being an initiator of vision casting for our church. Jeff has been on staff at Centerpoint since 1987 when he began his ministry here as a Youth Pastor.
The Porte family consists of Terri, who has been married to Jeff for the past 25 years, along with 4 children: Michael (23) a senior at Western Michigan University, Alex (20) a junior at Hope College, and David (16) and Anna (14) who are students in the Mattawan Schools. Two other significant members of the family include Sophie, the lap dog, and Tess, the garage dog!!
Jeff's growing up years were spent in Shelby, Michigan. He attended Shelby High School and then graduated from Hope College in 1984. Jeff completed his seminary training at Western Theological
Seminary in Holland as well. Since then, Jeff has returned to Western Seminary and received his Doctorate in Ministry degree in 2002. During Jeff's "down time" he enjoys working out, reading, the beach, landscaping projects, cycling, and ANYTHING basketball related - playing, watching or coaching!
